Teacher Assistant
Job Description
Objective: Teaches up to 10 ages 6 weeks to 5 years old
Reports to: Supervising Teacher
Salary: $13.50/hr; 20-40 hrs/wk in classroom between the hours of Mon–Fri; 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Committed follower of Jesus Christ who walks with Him daily
Agrees with and will uphold the Statement of Faith, Confidentiality Agreement, and all program policies
Dependable, stable, and capable of carrying out responsibilities/commitments with little or no supervision
Able to adjust to new scenarios/responsibilities with cheerfulness and a desire for the students’ welfare
A sincere desire to engage with all Shining Lights students and staff with love and compassion
Educational Qualifications
Early Childhood Credential 2.0 Level I or II
Major Responsibilities
Embody the mission, vision, and values of Shining Lights Learning Center at all times
Build relationships w/students and parents through confident, warm and caring communication
Ensure the health, safety, and sanitation of the classroom environment
Help create a positive environment for students to develop social-emotional skills/healthy eating habits
Assist teacher in development of lesson plans based on student interests/developmental milestones, fostering a love of learning
Implement developmentally appropriate methods of observational assessment with the intention of making learning visible and communicating positive aspects of the student
Collaborate closely with teacher on individual student progress
Support children in toileting, diapering, hand-washing, dressing, eating, etc.
Communicates regularly with the teacher about any students requiring additional support
Maintain awareness and fulfill continuing education and licensure requirements in a timely manner
Any other duties as assigned by the teacher or director
Serve as a humble example to students/staff in your spiritual journey in word and deed
