Teacher
Job Description
Objective: Teaches up to 10 students ages 6 weeks to 5 years old
Reports to: Executive Director
Salary: $17-22/hr (based on Credential level); 20-40 hrs/wk between the hours of Mon–Fri; 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Spiritual Qualifications
Committed follower of Jesus Christ who walks with Him daily
Agrees with and will uphold the Statement of Faith, Confidentiality Agreement, and all program policies
Dependable, stable, and capable of carrying out responsibilities/commitments with little or no supervision
Able to adjust to new scenarios/responsibilities with cheerfulness and a desire for the students’ welfare
A sincere desire to engage with all Shining Lights students and staff with love and compassion
Educational Qualifications
Early Childhood Credential 2.0 Level III or higher
Major Responsibilities
Embody the mission, vision, and values of Shining Lights Learning Center at all times
Build relationships w/students and parents through regular confident, warm and caring communication
Ensure classroom sanitation and the health, safety, and supervision of classroom students at all times
Create a positive environment for students to develop social-emotional skills and healthy eating habits
Develop lesson plans based on student interests/developmental milestones, fostering a love of learning
Observe student progress and communicate regularly with the director about any requiring extra support
Maintain notes/files per student and facilitate biannual parent conferences or additional mtgs as needed
Conduct ASQ evaluations 2x per year for each student
Support assistant teacher and teacher aids in upholding lesson plans, routines, and curriculum, building confidence, skills, and organizational culture of compassionate communication and faith-based learning
Provide teacher assistant/aid feedback and bi-monthly in-service training in collaboration with director
Support director in fulfilling own continuing education and licensure requirements in a timely manner and encourage teacher assistants and aids to do the same; remain open to additional director-assigned duties
Serve as a humble example to students/staff in your spiritual journey in word and deed
