Developing tomorrow’s leaders through faith-based educational opportunities and service

LEAD is a two-day-a-week drop-off program developed to come alongside and lighten the load of home educators while enhancing the educational opportunities, unique giftedness, and spiritual development of each and every child. The program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:45am to 3:15pm during the Gunnison public school calendar year.

The program is offering three classes for the 2021-2022 academic year: half-day K4/K5 (non-readers), 1st-3rd, 4th-6th. Parents have the option of enrolling their K5 children for a full day. The children are incorporated into the 1st-3rd classroom for afternoon enrichment activities.

Our instructors have among them over 65 years of teaching experience, both in the public school classroom and as home educators. In addition to providing and arranging educationally enriching experiences and service projects, they oversee the students in their parent-assigned math and language arts and provide a hands-on science and history curriculum (with extra subject reading recommended or assigned at home). They also are readily available to assist parents in curriculum decisions and provide encouragement as needed.

For maximum effectiveness, our typical student/teacher ratio is 10:1, with assistance from college interns, as available.

LEAD is tuition-based; however we endeavor to keep tuition low to accommodate as many families in the valley as possible. Tuition for the 2021-2022 academic year is $2,000 per student. No sibling discounts are possible at this time; however, a parent-led fundraising team has been assembled to help with this concern.
